Speech and Language Pathologist (Part-Time)
Location: Sherman Thomas Charter Schools
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Sherman Thomas Charter Schools are seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in grades TK-12 across our three schools Total student enrollment is 380. This part-time position (Tuesdays & Thursdays) focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders to help students succeed academically and socially.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Screen, assess, diagnose, and identify children with various types of communicative disorders in accordance with procedures outlined in Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Master Plan for Special Education and prepare related materials.

• Participate in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each child enrolled in the program in cooperation with parents and school staff.

• Provide therapy in accordance with the needs of the selected students of the caseload.

• Provide appropriate in-service to site staff to enable them to be involved in implementing appropriate programs for assigned children

• Maintain accurate records and reports for each child enrolled in the program including diagnostic information, goals and objectives, pupil progress, pertinent conference information involving parents and other professionals.

• Communicate with parents, teachers, administrators, and staff relative to the individual needs of the students in planning and implementing the speech program. 

•  Uphold confidentiality guidelines pertaining to students and their families.  Provide necessary supervision of students in out-of-classroom activities as directed to ensure their safety.

• Prepare and maintain records, reports, files, and documentation as required by STCS and Madera SELPA administrative policies, state and federal laws and regulations.

• Perform related duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

Any combination equivalent to: One or more of the following Credentials is required: 

• Speech-Language Pathologist Credential 

• Clinical or Rehabilitative Services-Language Speech and Hearing Credential 

• Clinical or Rehabilitative Services-Language Speech and Hearing Credential with Special Class Authorization

• Valid, current California Driver’s License to drive a vehicle and attend conferences, seminars, workshops and other training away from the District.
