Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and power tools.
- Assist with surface repairs including plastering, caulking, drywall patching, and basic carpentry such as trim and frame installation.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute painting plans and identify specific project requirements.
- Support the team with tasks like masonry work, stucco application, fixture installation, and renovation projects that demand precision.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to construction site experience and handling power tools or welding equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to meet deadlines while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction painting or related fields such as renovation or restoration projects.
- Knowledge of color theory and application techniques for various surfaces and environments.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, stucco work, or concrete finishing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites involving scaffolding, welding equipment, or industrial painting processes.
- Valid construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to different project requirements; handyman experience is a plus.
