About the RoleVisit Box Elder County is looking for a creative, self-motivated part-time Social Media Coordinator to bring our destination marketing campaign, Naturally Outside The Box, to life across organic social channels. This is a hands-on, day-to-day content role - you'll be the daily voice behind our social presence, capturing and sharing the wide-open landscapes, wildlife, water recreation, history, and small-town character that make Box Elder County a must-visit (not just a drive-through) Utah destination.
This role is ideal for someone who loves telling visual stories, has a great eye behind the camera, and knows how to spot and ride a trend before it peaks.
What You'll DoCoordinate all organic social channels (Instagram, Facebook, and others as needed) posting, responding, and engaging on a consistent schedule
Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with seasonal campaign themes (spring/summer wildlife & water recreation, fall harvest & migratory birds, winter snow & heritage travel)
Create original photo and video content showcasing Box Elder County's outdoor recreation, scenic drives, historic sites, and local events
Grow each social channel through community engagement, consistent posting, and creative content that reflects the "Naturally Outside The Box" brand voice
Identify and act on emerging social media trends, adapting them to fit the destination's story and audience
Collaborate with the marketing team to align social content with broader campaign goals (overnight stays, visitor spending, awareness among drive-market travelers)
Track and report on basic engagement performance to inform content decisions
A genuine interest in travel, tourism, and the outdoors
Strong photography and/or videography skills, comfortable shooting and editing content on the go (phone or camera)
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and current social platform best practices
A creative eye and an instinct for what makes content stop the scroll
Self-starter who can manage a content calendar and work independently with light oversight
Strong writing skills for captions and community engagement
Ability to travel locally around Box Elder County to capture content (reliable transportation required)
Experience with content scheduling tools (Later, Meta Business Suite, etc.)
Basic photo/video editing skills (Lightroom, CapCut, Canva, etc.)
Past experience in tourism, destination marketing, or small-business social media
Wordpress Experience- Ability to make small edits and revisions on the website
