General Plant Manager
2nd Shift | 4:00pm–12:00am
Location: Hanover, PA | Sheridan Press (A CJK Group Company)
About the Role
The General Plant Manager is responsible for organizing, scheduling staff, and providing daily direction for 2nd shift production activities. This role monitors and adjusts work assignments as needed to ensure performance meets the expectations of both internal and external customers.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership and mentorship to ensure team performance remains the top priority
- Support team building by clarifying goals, strengthening skills, and fostering commitment and confidence
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
- Coordinate team vacation schedules based on customer and departmental needs
- Respond to requests from internal departments including Account Management, Bindery, and Prepress to ensure timely job completion
- Coordinate necessary equipment maintenance
- Oversee equipment and train staff as needed
- Maintain open communication with staff and management while modeling company policies and expectations
- Complete additional tasks as assigned while adhering to CJK Group Core Values
What You Bring
- Minimum of 3 years of training experience
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred
- Prior experience in press department activities
Work Environment
- Combination of standing and walking on the production floor and sitting at a desk using a computer
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
