Job Summary:
The General Plant Supervisor is responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and daily direction of 2nd shift activities. This position monitors and adjusts work assignments as necessary to ensure performance that satisfies both internal and external customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and act as a mentor as required to put team performance first.
- Practice team building: clarify purpose and goals, build commitment and self-confidence, strengthen the team’s collective skills and approach, and create opportunities.
- Conduct performance reviews of direct reports.
- Coordinate vacation schedule among team members based on both customer and departmental needs.
- Respond to requests for additional information from internal departments (such as Account Management, Bindery, Prepress) to ensure timely printing of all jobs.
- Coordinate necessary maintenance of equipment.
- Oversee equipment and train staff as necessary.
- Provide open communication to both staff and management. Set the proper example and apply company policies as defined in the Employee Handbook.
- Complete other tasks as defined by Management while adhering to CJK Group Core Values.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years Training experience
- 3 years Supervisory experience
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to work extended hours
- High School Diploma or GED
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Prior experience in Press Department activities
Physical Requirements
- Periods of standing /walking on production floor and sitting at desk using computer
- Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
