Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities And Duties
- Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
- Document maintenance activities and update service logs and records.
- Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and projects.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance work.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members about maintenance needs and priorities.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and maintenance management software is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required (technical school or trade certification preferred.)
- 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, mechanical repair, or related field.
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is highly desirable.
- OSHA safety certification or training preferred.
