What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNA | Certified Nursing Aide position at Sheridan Medical Lodge?
Each floor shift moves through a predictable rhythm of direct resident care and routine floor checks. You will work alongside floor nurses to handle daily hygiene support and mobility assistance across the unit. Shift handoffs focus on clear communication so residents receive steady care throughout the day or night.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Help residents move safely between beds, wheelchairs, and dining areas using proper transfer equipment
- Take and document vital signs, daily weights, and meal intake figures in resident charts
- Respond promptly to call lights and assist with immediate resident comfort needs
- Maintain clean resident rooms and keep daily care supplies organized
- Report changes in resident conditions or skin integrity directly to the floor nurse on duty
- Coordinate with physical therapy and dietary staff to follow resident care plans
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay Rate: Starting at $16/hr, scaling upward with experience
- Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (6AM - 6PM / 6PM - 6AM)

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Texas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Must pass a standard criminal background check
- Must pass a drug screening
- Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
