Position Summary:
Our rural critical access hospital is seeking a PRN/On-Call Pharmacist to join our dedicated healthcare team. The Pharmacist will provide professional pharmaceutical services, including the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications, ensuring safe and effective use of drug therapies for patients across all care settings.
Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Provide drug information and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Support compliance with state and federal laws, as well as hospital policies and accreditation standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
- Current Michigan Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Schedule:
- On-call/PRN (as needed). Hours vary based on departmental needs, including occasional weekends, evening, or holidays.
