Housekeeping Supervisor

Pay Range: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience
Shamin Hotels is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping team at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, located right on the Virginia Beach boardwalk. This is a working leadership role: you set the standard, run the shift, develop your team, and step in wherever needed to make sure every guest room and public space is guest-ready. What You'll Do
- Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage across the shift.
- Train new and current associates on housekeeping standards, procedures, and best practices for handling guest requests.
- Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair, and provide clear, objective feedback to room attendants.
- Ensure associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms, including nametags and designated PPE.
- Train associates on safety standards and enforce them consistently; identify unsafe behaviors and retrain associates appropriately.
- Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future incidents.
- Perform opening and closing shift duties and coordinate maintenance repairs with the engineering department.
- Verify and update the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
- Monitor overall cleanliness of the hotel, including parking lot and exterior entrances.
- Perform hands-on housekeeping duties as needed, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning, to support the team during high occupancy or staffing shortages.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with variable hours, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM depending on volume. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required based on business needs.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous housekeeping experience required; prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to train, coach, and hold a team to a consistent standard.
- Strong prioritization and time-management skills; able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of safety standards and PPE requirements in a housekeeping environment.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
