JOB OVERVIEW:
Assign rooms according to guest requests and preferences whenever possible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Welcome crew in a friendly, prompt and professional manner.
· Pre-register designated crew and prepare key packets.
· Organize and coordinate check-in/pre-registration procedures for arriving groups.
· Review/Track/Accommodate requests for crew room/check-out changes when possible; communicate status to appropriate staff.
· Confirm reservations and cancellations.
· Verify and adjust billing for crew.
· File crew paperwork or documentation.
· Set up/process for crew
· Activate room keys.
· Complete assigned Rooms Controller Checklist
· Identify any over-commitments.
· Perform duplicate reservation checks, block rooms.
· Run daily reports.
· Follow up with crew to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction.
· Provide warm, knowledgeable assistance to crew to ensure an effortless and memorable experience.
· Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room location. Answer phones in a prompt and courteous manner.
· Communicate any outstanding guest/crew requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.
· Respond appropriately to guest/crew complaints. Make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction.
· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
· Perform other duties as assigned to provide genuine hospitality and to meet the Sheraton Brand standard.
· Follow the principles of CARE and the Four Disciplines of Associate Success
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Basic accounting skills recommended. Microsoft Office recommended. Excellent communications skills, strong knowledge of the Los Angeles area and the desire to help and assist others. Background in Front Desk, customer service, and /or hospitality is preferred. Other languages preferred.
This job requires the ability to perform the following:
· Frequently standing up behind the desk and front office areas
· Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 15 pounds
· Handling objects, products and computer equipment
· Use a keyboard to operate various property management and reservations systems, etc.
Essential:
· Communication skills utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
· Reading and writing abilities are utilized often. Basic math skills are used frequently.
· Problem solving, reasoning, motivating and training abilities are often used.
· Must be available to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
