Located on our historic campus in Towson, Maryland, Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approved, level V nonpublic school. We offer a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program catering to youths ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral challenges. Our comprehensive program offers structured community and recreational activities alongside full-day special and general education schooling.

What To Expect.

This role offers rich, entry level, experience in special education if your goals include careers like special education teacher, registered behavior technician (RBT), or board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA). Starting pay rate: $18.00/hour.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting the teacher as a paraprofessional educator and/or working with assigned student as a 1:1 dedicated aide.
- Supporting Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives by documenting student progress and providing additional instruction and structure.
- Providing educational and adaptive behavior support.
- Providing behavior intervention and treatment.
- Opportunities for leading classroom activities.
