General Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day direction, operation, evaluation and monitoring of the clinical and administrative aspects of specific programs and or/service line. Responsible for developing, coordinating, supervising, providing, evaluating and leading programs in assigned regions and/or service lines. Maintains compliance with government regulatory bodies and other related accreditation organizations.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Program Management
- Provides leadership, organizes, monitors and evaluates program’s operational structure
- Ensures that the program’s mission and its services are carried out effectively and efficiently
- Coordinates referral, enrollment, service delivery and service closure to ensure service provision in line with mission and principles of Sheppard Pratt and the assigned service line.
- Staff Management

- Spearheads hiring, training and supervision of staff working in assigned program areas.
- Helps to mentor future leaders for the organization and the field.
- Develops and implements workforce plan to ensure programs/facilities/sites are adequately staffed and that all staff are properly trained and supported.
- Equitably reviews credentials, experience and performance of staff and grants privileges at time of hire and annually thereafter.

The pay range for this position is $77,000 minimum to $95,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
What we need from you.
- Work requires general and specific knowledge of behavioral health, recovery and rehabilitation generally obtained by a Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience or an Associate’s degree and seven years’ experience. If not degreed, eight years of experience is required.
- Experience must include at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Must be a licensed mental health professional or possess CPRP (certified psychiatric rehabilitation professional) within 6 months from date of hire and continuously throughout tenure in position. (This qualification is not applicable to Developmental Disabilities programs.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to navigate through applications and utilize a keyboard (and/or accommodating equipment) to input required documentation into electronic health record. Prior experience with electronic health record a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with community organizations, clients, families, and staff; to serve as a problem solver.
- Ability and desire to work with and advocate for our diverse client population.
- Ability to monitor, revise and understand the program budgetary process.
- Must possess a valid state Driver’s License with a driving record that meets Sheppard Pratt regulations.
- Must possess or have access to a 4-passenger vehicle that meets Sheppard inspection and vehicle insurance that names employee as insured driver.
- Must be flexible to adjust schedule to meet program needs including evening or weekends. Requires On-Call availability.
