Driver (VRS121)

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services for clients of the various Mosaic Programs. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Transport clients safely and responsibly for the programs, their residential homes and /or other Mosaic sites as assigned. 2. Responsible for the maintenance and safety of company vehicles, including but not limited to, filling vehicles with gas, checking fluids, tire pressure, maintaining maintenance records, and arranging for vehicle maintenance appointments. 3. Clean and wash vehicles as assigned. 4. Provide and maintain a responsible customer oriented attitude by quick responses to transportation related issues that may come up. 5. Pick up and deliver mail, supplies and other items as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Work requires the basic oral and written skills that are usually acquired through a HS Diploma/GED. 2. Work requires a current, valid MD State issued driver’s license, as well as a driving record with 3 or fewer points on it. 3. Work requires the ability or experience of working with disabled population. 4. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to establish therapeutic relationships with mentally ill residents and to communicate and work effectively with residents in accordance with rehabilitation plans. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work requires large time spent in and driving company vehicles with some exposure to exhaust fumes, heat and cold, and occasional exposure to hazards such as traffic accidents. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Transportation Coordinator
