What to expect.
Under general direction for assigned units/programs, participates in planning and developing content for unit/program orientation and clinical training (exclusive of RN-specific training) for new staff, and for ongoing in-service training.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Plans and prepares training content for review and approval.
- Delivers training in classroom, teaches unit-based small groups or provides 1:1 mentoring as needed.
- Teaches and demonstrates skills in CPR, patient/resident de-escalation, and aggression management techniques.
- Assesses trainees’ performance and shares appropriate feedback to the supervisors/managers.
- Completes and maintains training documentation; updates and maintains training materials.
Hours: Monday – Friday from 8 am – 4:30 pm

The pay range for this position is $43,576.42 minimum to $65,407.47 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
What we need from you.
- 2-3 years of related clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings, with demonstrated knowledge of patient care, therapeutic interventions, crisis management and program-specific clinical practices. Experience working within multidisciplinary treatment teams and familiarity with unit-based workflows and documentation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, human services, or related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills sufficient to effectively lead classroom-style and unit-based training sessions and facilitate discussions. Ability to engage audiences, explain clinical expectations, model best practices, and provide real-time feedback while demonstrating sound clinical leadership.
- Problem-solving skills sufficient to develop and modify training materials to meet objectives and audience/trainees, to assess achievement of competencies and results of training, and to assist in the planning and evaluation of orientation and training programs.
