Position Summary
The Prep cook will play a crucial role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently by preparing ingredients and supporting the culinary staff. The Prep Cook will be responsible for washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and assisting chefs in daily food preparation tasks.
Essential Functions

- Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and kitchen instructions
- Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables, fruits, and other food items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area and kitchen stations
- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as needed to ensure timely meal service
- Ensure all food products meet quality and safety standards prior to use
- Properly store and label ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and keep workspaces sanitized.
- Fill in and provide coverage across restaurant and dinner theater areas as assigned or directed by managers.
- Perform other duties assigned in support of the essential operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check in accordance with company policy.
- Uniform/appearance standards.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a dishwasher within the restaurant industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is an advantage.
