Job Summary
Trail Steward / Trail Maintenance Help
We are also looking for a part-time Trail Steward to help during the week. This role is hands-on and important. Duties include helping maintain the trails, improving ride quality, and keeping the park looking sharp and riding well.
Trail Steward Responsibilities:
- Weed eating, leaf blowing, and basic trail upkeep
- Trail repair and maintenance
- Moving dirt, rock, and materials where needed
- Helping with drainage, tread repair, and general trail improvements
- Using hand tools and lawn equipment safely and effectively
Requirements for Trail Steward:
- Ability to do physical outdoor work in steep terrain
- Comfortable using hand tools and lawn equipment
- Able to lift, move, and work with dirt, rock, and materials
- Willing to work hard in changing weather conditions
- Background check and drug screen required
- Coordination of volunteer work days
- Ability to direct volunteers
Position is through the City of Ironton, as Shepherd Mountain Bike Park is city-owned and operated. This is a part-time role with room to grow as the park continues to expand.
This work can be tough at times, but it is also rewarding. You’ll be part of a small team working to build something special for riders, families, and visitors in Arcadia Valley.
