What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Shephard's Beach Resort?
Shephard’s Beach Resort is now seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist in managing our culinary operations. This is an ideal opportunity for any individual who wants to further their career. We are looking for someone with a hands-on approach, to apply their culinary knowledge and skills to this leadership role, while following the specifications and guidelines of the Executive Chef.
Will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Executive Chef in executing and updating the current menu and assist in any future changes or creations.
- Ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely manner while meeting our quality standards.
- Lead the line, while helping to build a team environment.
- Maintaining and enhancing our customer satisfaction.
- Planning and directing food preparation.
- Coaching and training staff and assessing their performance.
- Complying with and enforcing sanitation and safety standards, according to the regulations of the health department.
- Maintaining a positive approach with management, staff and customers and being able to communicate effectively.
- Must be goal driven, detail oriented and well organized.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years experience in high volume. Open availability is needed – must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical requirements include:
Being able to endure long hours on your feet, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted, withstanding exposure to outdoor elements and exposure to heat and cold.
