Operator/Lineman II

Job Summary

• Work with a small construction team to install, repair, or replace overhead and
• underground communication lines.
• Knowledge and physical ability to place, construct, maintain, or remove outside plant
• facilities.
• Implements and carries out instructions from foreperson.
• Must be able to work aloft by means of bucket truck, ladders or climbing utility poles.
• Establishes a safe working area by observing company safety procedures at all times.
• Knowledge of damage prevention and hand dig best practices.
• Operates and assists with troubleshooting of construction equipment.
• Ability to read work site drawings and assemble materials required to complete work tasks.
• Work overtime, after-hours, weekends, holidays and available for emergency call outs as needed.
• Observes all company safety procedures at all times.
• Inspects work to determine and ensure compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards.

Qualification Requirements:
Education:

• High School Diploma is required for the role.
• Associate's/Technical Degree - two years is preferred for the role.

Experience Level:

• 1 year of Construction experience is Required.
• 1 year of Telecommunications experience is Required.

Job Skills & Knowledge:

• The ability to safely work and communicate with construction team members.
• Complete documentation in a timely and professional manner.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Work Zone Traffic Certification.
• Working aloft and confined space training.
