What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Fryer / Prep Cook position at Shens Sushi & Ramen House?
Shen’s Sushi & Ramen House is looking for a reliable and hardworking Fryer / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.
This position is best for someone who can work quickly, stay organized during busy periods, and handle multiple orders at the same time. Previous fryer or restaurant kitchen experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate the fryer safely and efficiently
- Prepare fried food according to restaurant standards
- Handle multiple fryer tickets at the same time
- Pay close attention to quantities and special instructions
- Complete daily food prep as assigned
- Learn new prep tasks and recipes quickly
- Keep your workstation clean and organized throughout the shift
- Wash fryer baskets, utensils, containers, prep equipment, and other items used at your station
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
- Clean and organize your assigned kitchen area before leaving
- Help maintain the back kitchen and make sure the area is properly cleaned at the end of the shift
- Assist with other kitchen duties when needed

Experience

Applicants with fryer experience will be given priority.
Training & Evaluation
The starting pay is $16 per hour.
New employees will go through an initial training and evaluation period. We will evaluate:

- Ability to learn prep work
- Organization
- Cleanliness
- Reliability and work attitude
Employees who successfully meet the requirements of the position may continue employment. Applicants who are unable to meet the required performance standards may not be able to continue in the position.
Schedule
Evening shifts.Weekend availability is strongly preferred.
