What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry EVS position at Shenandoah Medical Center?
1. Processes soiled linens according to procedure.
- Gathers dirty linens from all areas of the facility.
- Weighs, charts and sorts laundry according to color and fabric chart.
- Handles and treats soiled items according to policy and procedure.
- Uses commercial washer and dryer
- Uses appropriate amount of laundry supplies.
- Reports to supervisor any unusual items found when sorting linens.
2. Processes clean linen appropriately and accurately.
- Folds all clean laundry as necessary for proper storage.
- Irons linens as necessary.
- Sorts linen for appropriate departments as necessary.
- Delivers and stocks clean and sanitary linens throughout the facility.
- Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
3. Monitors all linens in the organization.
- Verifies all linen storage areas are well stocked.
- Maintains adequate supply of linen to ensure areas do not run short.
- Stocks the linen closets in a timely manner.
- Assists with inventory process.
4.Maintain laundry work area and equipment in a neat, organized and effective manner.
- Removes lint from dryer.
- Keeps work area neat and uncluttered.
- Maintains assigned equipment in clean, operable condition.
- Keeps cart cleaned and stocked.
- Utilizes appropriate supply quantities.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
