Position Overview: Shen Milsom & Wilke is pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and results-oriented BIM - Revit Designer to join our team in our NYC location.
We invite qualified individuals to apply their expertise to our commitment to excellence in BIM and Revit design and implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in architecture, engineering, or construction, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of BIM practices.
SM&W has a hybrid work policy. This position requires three days in the office or on a project site and permits two days remote. We are seeking candidates who live in the NYC region or nearby areas.
Key Responsibilities: This position is vital for enhancing our Building Information Modeling processes and ensuring that project execution is conducted seamlessly through the effective utilization of Revit software.
Project Planning & Design
- Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and project teams to execute BIM across various offices and disciplines.
- Produce Revit and AutoCAD design documentation and work in cooperation with the design team.
- Assist in refining and standardizing project documentation, including the firm’s standards, templates, and libraries.
- Work closely with Discipline Leads to develop construction document sets and provide firm-wide technical support for evaluating, developing, and improving BIM processes, best practices, policies, protocols, and workflows.
- Act as a mentor, inspiration, and motivator to members of the product development team to follow BIM/CAD best practices and to contribute to innovative ideas and growth plans for the department.
- You will be required to maintain the integrity of Revit models, work as a document controller, QA/QC drawings for standards and graphics, and coordinate Revit work between multiple offices.
Skills and Qualifications
- 4-Year Architectural Degree, Technical Degree, or Equivalent Experience
- 5 years of experience in architectural design development, construction documentation, and detailing on a wide variety of project types
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 Teams/Document Management/Design Collaboration, and AutoCAD
- Possess strong organizational skills, and communication skills
- Specialized knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering software tools such as Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, V-Ray, IRIS VR, and Photoshop suite
- Proficiency with Architectural drawing sets
- Ability to ensure the accuracy of the designed product or concept for the organization
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines and accommodate shifting priorities.
- Full Proficiency in Microsoft Suites
