Role Description The Personal Lines CSR/Producer is a full-time, on-site position based in Vandalia, IL, supporting customers with their personal insurance needs. This role involves answering inquiries, explaining coverage options, and assisting with policy quotes, applications, changes, and renewals for products such as auto, home, renters, and other personal lines. The CSR/Producer will handle incoming calls, emails, and in-person visits, ensuring prompt, accurate, and courteous service that aligns with Shelter Insurance® standards. Daily responsibilities include maintaining client records, following up on leads, processing payments, and coordinating with underwriting and claims as needed. The role also includes proactive outreach to existing and prospective customers, contributing to business growth while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Experience, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships.
- Experience in Customer Support and Customer Satisfaction, demonstrating effective handling of inquiries, issues, and policy-related questions.
- Ability to work effectively in a Customer Service Representatives environment, collaborating with team members and supporting agency operations.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Comfort with learning and using insurance agency management systems and related technology.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Vandalia, IL, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced office setting.
- Prior insurance, financial services, or sales experience is preferred; appropriate state insurance licensing or ability to obtain it within required timelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or relevant professional training is a plus.
