The Role
This part-time, on-site Life Insurance Specialist position combines meaningful client work with excellent earning potential. We pay top-dollar commissions and a competitive salary—part-time hours with full-time pay.
You will meet with prospective and existing customers to assess their insurance needs, explain policy options, and recommend the right Shelter products. While the primary focus is life insurance, you will also sell property and casualty coverages (auto, home, renters, and specialty lines) to provide complete protection solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating leads, following up on referrals, preparing quotes, processing applications in compliance with company and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate records, providing ongoing policy support, and collaborating with agents and team members to deliver outstanding customer service. Staying current on product features, industry trends, and underwriting guidelines for both life and P&C products is essential.
What We’re Looking For
- Active Life Insurance license in Illinois
- Active Property & Casualty license preferred
- Proven insurance sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals
- Strong customer service abilities—clear communication, active listening, and relationship-building
- Knowledge of life insurance products and basic finance concepts
- Comfort working on-site in Decatur, IL, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed
- Proficiency with computers, CRM tools, and electronic application platforms
- High professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical and regulatory standards
- Prior experience in life insurance or financial services is a plus, but not required
