Role Description The Licensed Insurance Agent is a full-time, on-site role based in Heber Springs, AR, responsible for selling and servicing Shelter Insurance® products to new and existing customers. Day-to-day activities include meeting with prospects, conducting needs-based insurance reviews, preparing quotes, and recommending appropriate coverage options across auto, home, life, and other personal and commercial lines. The agent will handle policy applications, renewals, changes, and claims-related inquiries while maintaining accurate records in Shelter’s systems. This role involves building and maintaining long-term client relationships, participating in local community and networking events, and following compliance, underwriting, and company guidelines. The agent will collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely customer support and contribute to local marketing and business development efforts.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Insurance Sales and Insurance, with the ability to explain coverage options clearly and recommend appropriate protection.
- Experience in Insurance Brokerage and Finance, including understanding of underwriting, risk assessment, and basic personal and commercial financial concepts.
- Demonstrated excellence in Customer Service, with a focus on responsiveness, empathy, and long-term relationship building.
- Active or eligible state license to sell property and casualty insurance; life and health licensing preferred.
- Prior experience as an insurance agent or in a related financial services role is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with comfort working in a goal-driven, sales-oriented environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Heber Springs, AR, with reliable transportation for local client visits and community engagement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, finance, or related field is a plus.
