Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales and returns
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods accurately and securely
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales
- Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers
- Maintain merchandising standards, including stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
- Support other team members with duties such as product demos and merchandising as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments preferred
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Proficiency with POS systems and cashiering procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as required
