Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections or demos
- Handle cash register operations with precision, including cash drawer handling and balancing registers at shift end
- Stock shelves and maintain clean, organized displays to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities and improve customer experience
- Assist with inventory management by stocking new merchandise and conducting regular stock checks
- Demonstrate product features when needed, including performing product demos to educate customers on benefits and usage
Experience
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and retail math concepts such as making change accurately
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual settings are highly valued for serving diverse customers
- Experience in supervising or leading team members is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards
