Shell Island Resort is seeking a Front Desk Manager who excels at guest service, enjoys working with numbers, and understands that every occupancy decision impacts the bottom line. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all front desk operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient daily performance.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate front desk team members to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
  • Monitor room inventory, occupancy trends, and booking pace to support revenue optimization efforts.
  • Utilize technology and AI-assisted revenue management tools to help manage pricing, availability, and demand strategies.
  • Analyze hotel performance metrics, including occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), and guest satisfaction scores.
  • Collaborate closely with ownership, housekeeping, and sales teams to maximize revenue opportunities and operational efficiency.
  • Handle guest concerns and escalated issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase revenue, and enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hotel front office experience, including at least 2 years as a Front Desk Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Demonstrated job stability, with a history of remaining in previous roles for two or more years.
  • Strong business acumen and an interest in understanding how hotel operations impact revenue and profitability.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Tech-savvy and eager to learn new software platforms, including AI-assisted revenue management tools.
  • Experience using hotel Property Management Systems (PMS); RDP experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Coachable, curious, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
