Responsibilities
- Lead the cashier team by supervising daily checkout activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cash handling and POS (Point of Sale) transactions.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly with professionalism and courtesy.
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, encouraging additional sales through effective upselling techniques.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the sales floor is inviting and well-stocked to maximize sales opportunities.
- Oversee inventory management tasks such as stocking, replenishing merchandise, and assisting with inventory counts to support retail sales goals.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely, ensuring clear communication at all times.
- Train and mentor new team members on cashier procedures, product knowledge, and customer service standards to foster a cohesive team environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail sales or cashiering roles within a grocery store or similar retail environment.
- Supervising experience preferred; capable of leading a team with confidence and motivating others to excel.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions.
- Excellent communication skills with bilingual abilities considered a plus to serve diverse customer needs.
- Skilled in customer service, with the ability to handle difficult situations gracefully while maintaining positive interactions.
- Familiarity with merchandising, stocking techniques, and product demos to enhance the shopping experience.
