Duties
- Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and manage the cash drawer with integrity and attention to detail.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Conduct product demos and upselling to promote store items, snacks, beverages, or automotive supplies.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and ensure the store remains clean, tidy, and well-stocked at all times.
- Maintain knowledge of store products including grocery items, convenience goods, and automotive supplies to assist customers effectively.
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in merchandising efforts.
- Support supervisory staff by supervising team members during shifts when needed and ensuring store policies are followed.
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially in grocery stores or convenience retail environments.
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
- Experience operating a cash register or POS system is essential for smooth transaction processing.
- Demonstrated ability in cashiering duties including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and basic math skills.
