Position Purpose
The Caregiver provides compassionate, hands-on care and support to residents in accordance with their individual service plans. This position supports residents with daily living needs while treating each resident with dignity, respect, and kindness. The ideal candidate has a positive, can-do attitude and a friendly demeanor.
Responsibilities
Ensure residents’ daily care and service needs are met, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, dressing, eating, socializing, and participating in activities
Assist residents with participation in Life Enrichment Events by leading activities, assisting the Life Enrichment Coordinator, or escorting residents
Follow resident service plans for the appropriate level of assistance and support
Observe and report changes in resident condition or needs as they occur
Perform light housekeeping duties, including bed making, linen changes, dusting, trash removal, and laundry
Use safe and proper techniques when handling cleaning chemicals, tools, carts, and equipment
Report unusual incidents and respond appropriately during emergencies
Practice safe, sanitary hygiene at all times
Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the living center
Qualifications
Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to learn and grow
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation daily
Demonstrated compassionate and supportive approach to care
Availability to work various shifts, including nights and/or weekends
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care
Willingness to follow and enforce health and safety standards
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent caregiver experience
Takes pride in providing high-quality care
Hoyer Lift Experience Preferred (specific To Resident Needs)
