What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Recreation Program Aide position at Shelby Township Michigan?
Shelby Township needs creative, compassionate individuals who are committed to working with special needs adults in their Special Recreation Program! Job duties will take place at the Shelby Township Activities Center, in Shelby Township Parks, or other field trip locations. Hours of required duties are M-F 5-9pm or Saturdays. Pay rate is $16.16/hour. Please see below for responsibilities and requirements.
Special Recreation Aide
- Supports Adaptive Special Recreation programs, including Special Rec softball, basketball, bingo, bocce ball, movie nights, craft nights, dances, arts and crafts, and more!
- Attend Special Rec field trips and supervise with direction accordingly
- Conducts activities as assigned by the Special Rec Program Director
- Monitor participants safety and wellbeing
- Other job duties as assigned
Aide Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Previous recreation experience
- Experience working with special needs individuals, preferred but not required
- Must pass background check and complete CPR, First Aid, and Concussion training. All mentioned trainings will be made available through the Shelby Township Fire Department.
