Troy Recreation is seeking a responsible, courteous, and highly-organized individual to join our team as a Recreation Aide at our Fitness Center. This role involves a variety of tasks, including customer service, answering phones, processing membership and pass transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized Fitness Center. This position reports to the Building Supervisors.

DUTIES

·         Greet all patrons to the facility in a professional manner.

·         Ensure patrons are properly checked in to the facility.

·         Answer questions on the phone and in person regarding the fitness facility, membership options, and programs.

·         Provide facility tours to new and prospective members

·         Process membership applications and day pass purchases with proper cash handling.

·         Clean the fitness desk, the facility, and locker rooms regularly.

·         Enforce all rules and regulations with patrons.

·         Assist with the daily facility operations.

·         Respond to accidents, incidents, and emergencies.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

·         Accurate cash handling skills.

·         Excellent computer skills.

·         As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).

PREFERENCES

·         Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in Recreation or Fitness fields, or closely related field.

·         Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a customer service role, including processing sales transactions on a computer.

·         CPR/First Aid Certified.

EVALUATION PROCESS

HOURS:

Part-time, year-round. Approximately 16-28 hours per week. Schedule and availability must be attentive to facility needs.

Priority shift with a $2.00/hr shift premium: 4:30am - 10:15am

Other shifts are available

Facility is open seven (7) days per week, 4:30am-9:30pm.
