What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher- Early Learners position at Shelby Eastern Schools?
- Provide academic, behavioral and functional support to preschool students with special needs.
- Maximize the learning experiences of students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living.
- Address students’ specific needs
- Provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Participates in case conferences and assists in developing Individual Educational Plans for students.
- Complete assessments of students to assist in identifying learning issues.
- Recommend instructional strategies and develop corrective procedures.
- Assist in the implementation of IEP’s and behavior management plans.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record keeping.
- Work with a variety of disability areas.
- Work with classroom assistants to provide services via a collaborative approach preferred.
- Consult with district staff on IEP goals and best practice.
