JOB DESCRIPTION
Morristown Elementary is seeking a special education instructional assistant for the 2026-27 school year.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside the special education teacher to meet the individual learning needs of students.
- Assist students in grades K-5 in small group settings, resource room, and general education classrooms.
- Emphasis on English/Language Arts and math skills.
- Other duties assigned by principal/designee.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must pass a background check through Shelby Eastern Schools.
- Emphasis on teamwork, a positive attitude, and a desire to build relationships with students, parents, community members, and fellow staff members.
The starting salary for new instructional assistants is $14.75 per hour. Part-Time 28 hours per week. Additional compensation possible depending on degree held.
