Sales Associate/Cashier/Sales Floor

SUMMARY

Provide retail customers and visitors with an exceptional customer service experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Provide a friendly environment by greeting and acknowledging customers in a timely manner.

· Possess solid product knowledge to assist customers with merchandise questions, requests, and recommendations.

· Generate additional sales through suggestive selling, where appropriate.

· Process all sales transactions, including purchases, returns, and exchanges.

· Ensure merchandise is “customer ready” and tagged correctly before placed on floor

· Assure the proper handling of all transaction payments, including cash, credit, debit, and check transactions.

· Ensure compliance of all company policies, procedures and practices, and support Company loss prevention efforts.

· Assist in floor moves, housekeeping, display maintenance, and replenishing merchandise as needed.

· Ensure the image and style of the company is projected at all times.

· Maintain price and descriptive signs on backdrop fixtures.

· Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of fixtures, signage, lights & equipment.

· Proactively participate in inventory management by stocking merchandise, taking inventory, facilitating stock transfers, ticket and re-ticket, and executing markdowns as directed by management.

· Maintain awareness of potential loss prevention issues and activities.

· Answer department telephone calls.

· Open and closing duties.

· Other related duties as assigned by supervision.

Attitudes, Skills, and Abilities
Successful sales cashiers are enthusiastic, friendly, and have a desire to serve the customer. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are a must. The ability to work a flexible schedule, be a team player, and pitch in where needed is critical. Must be able to process transactions through POS register system. Able to read, count, and write accurately to complete all documentation.

Experience/Education
Previous experience in a customer service/public contact position, preferably sales/retail-related.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Standing 80%; bending and stooping 20%. Must be able to freely access all area of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. Must possess the ability to handle merchandise throughout the store, generally weighing between 0-50 pounds. Must be able to work varied hours/day/Saturdays as business dictates.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
