Position Summary

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, automated equipment, and power distribution across fulfillment center operations. This role ensures uptime, safety, and compliance of all electrical infrastructure supporting material handling systems, conveyors, sortation equipment, HVAC, lighting, and building utilities.

Job Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance

· Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems including 480V/277V, 208V/120V, and control circuits.

· Perform preventive maintenance on switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, PLC panels, and backup power systems (UPS, generators).

· Support installation and commissioning of automation equipment such as conveyors, AMRs, and sorters.

Troubleshooting & Repair

· Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control systems.

· Use multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic tools to test electrical continuity and performance.

· Support breakdown response to minimize operational downtime.

Compliance & Safety

· Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), and local Indiana electrical regulations.

· Maintain lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safe work practices.

· Participate in electrical safety audits and inspections.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

· Update one-line diagrams, schematics, and maintenance records.

· Recommend design improvements to reduce energy use or improve reliability.

· Support capital projects, contractor coordination, and CMMS work order completion.

Job Requirements

Education & Licensing:

· High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma preferred.

· Licensed or Journeyman Electrician in the State of Indiana.

· OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.

Experience:

· 3–5 years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical work.

· Experience with automated material handling systems, conveyors, or PLC-driven equipment in warehouse or manufacturing environments.

· Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens electrical systems is an asset.

Skills:

· Strong understanding of single-phase and three-phase systems.

· Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC I/O layouts.

· Competence in CMMS software and digital maintenance tools.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
