Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Shop Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in fabrication with a strong understanding of sheet metal work and related mechanical processes. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects involving ductwork, structural components, and custom fabrications in a dynamic environment. Candidates with construction site experience and proficiency in various fabrication techniques are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements and due dates
- Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
- spot welding to join metal parts according to specifications and safety standards
- Operate forklifts, and machining tools to handle heavy materials safely and efficiently
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Fabricate ductwork, piping, and structural components adhering to ASME codes & standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving assembly and installation of fabricated parts
- work full time MON-FRI 6:45am-3:15pm daily, possible overtime on Saturdays as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication within manufacturing or construction environments
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, various duct fabrication machines and power shears
- Mechanical knowledge related to ductwork installation, assembly processes, and schematics interpretation
- Experience working on construction sites or industrial facilities is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during fabrication processes
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certifications are a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
