What you’ll do
- Fabricate and install sheet metal components for HVAC systems according to blueprints and schematics.
- Utilize MIG and TIG welding techniques to ensure strong, reliable joints in ductwork and other assemblies.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters to shape metal with precision.
- Perform pipe threading, rigging, and assembly tasks while adhering to ASME codes & standards for safety and quality.
- Conduct inspections using calipers and micrometers to guarantee accuracy in measurements throughout the fabrication process.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely project completion while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, prioritizing safety protocols at all times.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and other welding techniques.
- Familiarity with ductwork installation practices and manufacturing processes.
- Experience operating forklifts and man lifts safely on job sites.
- Knowledge of machining processes, soldering techniques, and assembly practices.
