Key Responsibilities
- AWS Cloud Orchestration: Design, implement, and maintain a high-performance AWS infrastructure tailored for logistics execution. This includes managing VPCs, EC2 instances, RDS databases, and S3 storage, while ensuring the environment is architected for both scalability and cost-efficiency (FinOps).
- Cybersecurity & Data Governance: Serve as the primary guardian of the company’s digital assets. You will implement and oversee a comprehensive security framework, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption at rest and in transit, and regular vulnerability assessments.You must ensure the environment stays compliant with industry standards to protect sensitive 4PL client data.
- Proactive System Monitoring: Establish a 24/7 monitoring and observability stack (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic). You will define critical alerts for system latency and uptime, leading the incident response protocol to ensure that our transportation management systems and client portals experience zero downtime.
- 3rd Party Vendor & Partner Management: Act as the technical lead for all external technology partnerships. You will manage relationships with cloud providers, hardware vendors, and SaaS partners, holding them accountable to SLAs and leading technical evaluations for new integrations to ensure they align with our long-term architecture.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Reduce manual overhead by implementing automation for provisioning and configuration. You will work alongside the technical team to streamline deployments, ensuring that our SQL, Snowflake, and Python-based tools have a stable, repeatable environment to run on.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Design and regularly test robust backup and recovery strategies. Youare responsible forensuring thatin the event ofa regional outage or system failure, the 4PL operations can fail over with minimal RPO and RTO.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management, systems engineering, or a DevOps-focused role.
- At least 3 years must be in a lead or senior capacity managing cloud-native environments.
- Technical Mastery:
- Advanced AWS Knowledge: Extensive experience with the core AWS suite. You should be comfortable discussing complex networking, server less architecture, and security groups.
- Networking & Security: Deep understanding of firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, and endpoint protection.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, ora related Engineering field.
- Communication: Strong ability to translate "technical debt" and infrastructure needs into business-focused language for leadership.
The Ideal Candidate (The "Bonus" Skills)
- EDI Knowledge: Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 990) and the infrastructure required to support high-volume data exchange between carriers, shippers, and 4PL platforms.
- ApacheNiFiExpertise: Experience utilizing ApacheNiFi for automated data routing and transformation—specifically for moving logistics data across disparate systems.
- Logistics/4PL Background: Previous experience supporting a high-transaction transportation environment where system uptime directly impacts physical freight movement.
- Modern Tooling: Familiarity with Snowflake data warehousing environments and supporting internal Python/SQL technical teams.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
