Lead Maintenance Technician – Second Shift
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee second-shift operations and ensure our facilities run safely and efficiently. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll guide a small maintenance team, manage daily work orders, and help keep our buildings, equipment, and grounds in top condition.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and support second-shift maintenance staff.
- Prioritize and assign work orders, coordinate with the Cleaner Supervisor, and ensure smooth shift transitions.
Building & Equipment Maintenance
- Operate, inspect, and maintain boilers and HVAC systems, including computerized controls and water treatment.
- Perform general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, furniture, and other facility systems.
- Maintain grounds through landscaping, snow and ice removal, and outdoor upkeep.
Emergency & Preventive Maintenance
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues.
- Support the preventive maintenance program to ensure long-term reliability and safety.
Additional Technical Tasks
- Perform locksmith duties, replace security cameras, and maintain facility vehicles and equipment.
- Handle recycling and refuse transport; assist with loading and unloading materials.
- Complete special assignments, including sanitizing specific areas and assisting with inspections and compliance requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical coursework or 3 years of related experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, boilers, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and industrial codes and safety standards.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance systems (work orders, HVAC controls, email).
- Valid driver’s license and strong communication skills for written and verbal instructions.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Safe and proper use of tools, vehicles, and PPE.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00 - $32.77 per hour
