Production & Personal Assistant to Executive Producer & Co-Producers

Shazam! The Magic Show
Newberg, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 9/12/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/9/2027

Shazam! The Magic Show is seeking an energetic, organized, and highly dependable Production & Personal Assistantto work directly with the show’s Executive Producer and Co-Producers.

This is a unique and rare opportunity for someone who truly loves show business. The candidate will be adaptable, resourceful, personable, and excited to jump in wherever needed and directed to help.

This is by no means a traditional job in any way. It is certainly not a 9-5. It is exempt from somewhat familiar wage & hour issues, as is with most shows that tour. Travel is required, including the ability to tour with the show.

Responsibilities

The list of duties is fluid and may change day to day, minute by minute and may include:

· Assist the producer with daily production as well as personal needs such as the old cliché of picking up the dry cleaning

· Help facilitate the crew’s check in process to hotels or other accommodations, as well as check out.

· Communicate with theaters, venues, cast, crew, vendors, and local contacts as directed

· Assist with load-ins, by providing details with respect to the building’s layout, dock, doors, etc. as a result of previous discovery and communication with the venue

· Assist the director and producers in any way necessary on show days, rehearsals, performances.

· Help prepare and maintain dressing rooms, production offices, and craft services

· Run errands and obtain supplies, costumes, props, equipment, and/or personal items including the classic “running for coffee and donuts”

· Assist with merchandise for sale in the lobby - set up, inventory, sales, and settlement with the house as needed

· Help track production supplies, equipment, props, costumes, and other materials upon request by managers and producers

· Assist with cast and crew transportation and logistics as needed

· Help coordinate meals, hospitality, credentials, and backstage needs

· Handle basic administrative tasks such as emails, phone calls, reservations, appointments, and paperwork for the producers

· Assist the producers with personal scheduling and day-to-day work in many areas

· Troubleshoot unexpected issues and find quick solutions

· Take photos/video or assist with basic social media and promotional needs when requested

· Serve as an extra set of hands wherever needed to keep the production running smoothly, possibly even “mucking” our animal actors’ quarters, or standing in on stage

Who We’re Looking For

A genuine interest in show business is a must.

Experience in touring, theater, live entertainment, magic, circus, concerts, events, or production is highly beneficial, but we are also willing to consider someone with less industry experience who has the right attitude, work ethic, and desire to learn.

The ideal candidate is:

· Honest and trustworthy

· Organized and detail-oriented

· Reliable, punctual

· Positive and easy to work with

· Comfortable working closely with the producer, department manager, owners and important others, handling and securing confidential information

· Able to anticipate needs rather than waiting to be told

· Resourceful and good at solving complex problems on the fly

· Comfortable working long and irregular hours on performance and travel days

· Flexible when schedules or plans change

· Comfortable working independently as well as with a cast, crew and management

· Willing and able to pitch in regardless of whether a task is considered fun and glamorous or mundane and taxing

· Excited about being part of a unique touring entertainment production

A valid driver’s license and a reasonably appropriate driving record are necessary. Candidates must be fit and able to assist with light lifting and physical production tasks.

This position offers a behind-the-scenes look at nearly every aspect of producing and touring a professional magic and illusion show.
