Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic, family oriented and patient centered dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various dental procedures and a strong understanding of dental terminology, as well as proficiency in using EMR systems such as Softdent, Eaglesoft and Dentrix. This role involves providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support.
- Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take digital X-rays for diagnostic purposes.
- Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in medical documentation.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with dental receptionist duties as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
- Utilize 3D scanners for impressions when necessary, ensuring accuracy in dental procedures.
- Assist in various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Softdent, Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques and the ability to perform aseptic techniques effectively.

Hours: Mon 7-4; Tues 9-5; Wed 8-4; Thurs 7-4- Must be able to work these hours consistently.
