What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterilization Technician position at Shawnee Crossings Dental Care?
We are looking for a team member that is compassionate to patients and has a strong work ethic. Must pay attention to details and understand infection control.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental instruments and equipment
- Follow proper infection control protocols and guidelines
- Maintain and monitor sterilization equipment and supplies
- Assist in inventory management of dental supplies
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient care
- Assist dental team during procedures as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sterilization Technician or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Familiarity with dental software systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, CAD)
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Skills:
- Patient assessment skills to ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed
- Knowledge of pediatric dental care and the unique sterilization requirements for young patients
- Experience working as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is a plus
- Proficiency in using dental software systems for scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to understand dental procedures
