Position Overview
Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Dye lab Lead for Plant WF manufacturing located in Calhoun, GA.
Plant WF manufactures printed carpet and is the sole printing plant at Shaw. Our primary business is producing printed carpet for the hospitality industry as well as educational products in the form of rugs.
Position Overview:
Match colors with a high degree of accuracy and manage a small group of lab technicians. Maintain an effective system whereby sample requests are evaluated, made ready for printing, and color-critical matches are achieved. This position reports to the Design Manager at Plant WF.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate sample requests and determine the intent of the customer as to any special color-matching instructions.
- Communicate with the CDS group to ensure that sample requests are clear as to what is needed.
- Match colors to poms or other materials as requested within a sample match tolerance.
- Maintain carpet inventory for the sample department and evaluate rolls as needed to ensure defect-free carpet is used for sample material.
- Participate in daily shade audit reviews.
- Maintain effective system for keeping dye formulas updated and adjust as needed.
- Participate in and serve on safety committees to ensure that departmental issues are being addressed.
- Enter work orders in the Sharp system as needed to maintain equipment.
- Prioritize the makeup and printing of samples to meet assigned ship dates.
- Troubleshoot print problems and initiate trials as needed to maintain print clarity and quality.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job. Must comply with corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
- Must be able to travel to outlying production facilities and distribution centers and occasionally to claim sites to perform quality functions.

Requirements:
- Must be able to walk up to eight (8) hours a day.
- Must be able to bend and stretch approximately numerous times a day.
- Must be capable of lifting carrying buckets up to 50 pounds each.
- Must be able to see small numbers and letters as displayed by the computer screen.
- Must meet color vision requirements and be able to discern subtle differences between colors.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
