Duties
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounting by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, payments, and collections
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare financial reports and summaries using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance documentation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support budget preparation, expense tracking, and account analysis to aid in financial planning efforts
- Perform data entry tasks such as 10 key typing and maintain meticulous records for audit readiness
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, Sage, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Knowledge of financial concepts like account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis
- Experience with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and support technical accounting functions
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred
- Strong communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration across teams
