Elementary School Secretary/Treasurer - Sharon Elementary School

Position to begin on January 4, 2027.

Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in the receiving, accounting, and reporting of the monies received for the activities of the school.  In addition, performs various secretarial duties including greeting visitors, maintaining files, preparing and distributing correspondence, bulletins, flyers, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Receives, checks for accuracy, and deposits all money including textbook rental, fees, book store monies, athletic events revenue, fund raising activities, etc.; writes receipts.
• Write checks and claims.
• Maintains accurate records for extracurricular accounts.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Verifies purchases, checks purchase orders, invoices, and statements; issues checks and types purchase orders.
• Balances checking account, monthly.
• Greets and welcomes visitors and answers telephone providing information, assistance, or direction.
• Prepares documents, flyers, bulletins, etc., throughout the school year including menus, calendars, handbooks, etc.
• Maintains updated student information including emergency information, bus information, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate a variety of automated office machines including calculator, copier, computer, intercom, fax machine, etc.
• Ability to physically exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to lift and/or carry weights of ten to twenty pounds.

 Hourly rate of $24.16 for 7.5 hours a day and 208 days per year (includes 6 paid holidays.)
