This Opportunity: 

Our Office in Tempe, AZ has immediate openings for:

Full-time senior level construction materials field testing technician. This position requires a minimum of three to five years of construction materials testing experience.
 
 Experience must include field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, other construction materials, and mix design processes in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures.
 
 Other responsibilities will include documenting test results and assisting project managers and engineers with assignments.

Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

• Testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and hot mix asphalt, for quality control/quality assurance in a laboratory setting as well as on construction job sites
• Discussion of test results with client's on-site representative
• Preparation of daily reports on project specific activities

Job Requirements:

• Strong communication and detailed writing skills
• Basic math and writing skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player
• Capable of working independently
• Availability to work irregular hours and on weekends

 
Certifications REQUIRED:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI)
  • Field Testing Technician Level I
  • Aggregate Testing Technician Level I & II
  • Strength Testing Technician
  • Masonry Testing Technician (Field)
  • ATTI Field Testing

Certifications preferred (but not required)

NAQTC, WAQTC, NICET Level III, and/or ICC certifications in:

• Field Testing
• Soils / Aggregate Testing
• Asphalt Concrete Testing
• Masonry Testing

 Good communication and organizational skills, computer skills, good math skills, clean driving record, and pass pre-hire drug screening are required. Managing staff is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
• Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
• Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold if need
