Position Overview
Certerra Instrumentation and Monitoring, LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team based in Collingswood, New Jersey. This position will support and lead geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring projects throughout the Northeast region and across the United States. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of monitoring projects including planning, coordination of field installations, data review, reporting, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil, geotechnical, or structural engineering and experience managing projects in active construction environments. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work closely with clients, contractors, and internal field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage instrumentation and monitoring projects from initiation through completion.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop monitoring scopes and implementation plans.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of instrumentation including inclinometers, piezometers, vibration monitors, crack gauges, settlement points, automated total stations, and other structural/geotechnical monitoring systems.
- Oversee field staff and subcontractors to ensure monitoring systems are installed and maintained in accordance with project specifications and safety requirements.
- Review monitoring data and prepare technical reports, alerts, and summaries for clients and project stakeholders.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring quality control and adherence to contract requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and design teams regarding monitoring activities and findings.
- Support proposal preparation, budgeting, and business development activities related to instrumentation and monitoring services.
- Coordinate with other Certerra offices to support national monitoring projects as needed.
- Travel to project sites throughout the region and occasionally nationwide to support project execution and client needs.
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related engineering discipline (required).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in construction, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, or related infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating field operations in active construction environments.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and monitoring technologies is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or monitoring software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
Work Environment
- Office-based in Collingswood, NJ, with travel to construction sites throughout the Northeast and occasionally nationwide.

Salary : $62,400 - $83,200
