What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Material Handler position at Share Corporation?
Athea Laboratories, a leader in specialty chemical product manufacturing, is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Material Handler This position is located at the 1900 W Cornell Street facility.
This position is responsible for using a forklift to load and unload materials from trucks, to move bulk materials within the building. This position is also responsible for using a computer to set up shipping orders and for preparing materials to ship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of forklift to move materials
- Preparation of materials to be transported/handled by forklift
- Preparation of materials for shipment such as shrink wrapping and staging
- Print and prepare shipping labels using internal computer systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Assist with additional shipping and logistics tasks as needed to support operations
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork/documentation
- Basic computer proficiency
- Attention to detail with respect to correct labeling and paperwork
- Ability to use a calculator to do basic calculations and arithmetic using different units of measurement
- Peripheral vision and depth perception adequate to safely operate a forklift
- Must wear all required personal protective equipment (e.g. foot protection, eye/face
- protection, hand protection)
- GMP facility – any jewelry or piercings must be able to be removed or covered
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Approximate time sitting: 70%
- Approximate time standing/walking: 30%
