Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Maintain detailed care plans and document progress accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance - Engage clients in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Requirements
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care strategies
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and family members
- Demonstrated understanding of patient monitoring, medication administration, and care plan implementation
